Team data and member profiles

Set up and fill in jersey number, position and custom fields per team – and what you see in a member’s profile.

In VolleyFit, jersey number, position or a licence number don’t live in your personal profile but in team data. Each team decides its own fields. That way a player can have two different numbers in two teams.

Viewing team data

  1. Open the team and tap ⋮ → Team data.
  2. You’ll see a table of all members with their age and the enabled fields.

By default, every role in the team can see team data – players included. The menu item appears as soon as at least one field is enabled. Coaches always see it so they can create fields.

Setting up fields

Anyone who can edit the team can create fields – by default, the coach.

  1. Open ⋮ → Team data.
  2. Tap the pencil at the top and choose Edit fields. Manage fields opens.
  3. Under Member fields you’ll find the two standard fields Jersey number and Position. They start switched off; you can switch them on but not delete them.
  4. For more fields, tap Add custom field.
  5. Enter a Field name and choose the Field type.
Field typeUse it for
TextFree text, e.g. shoe size or school
NumberDigits only, e.g. a licence number
DropdownA list of fixed options (at least 2)
CheckboxYes or no
DateA date, e.g. when a pass expires
PositionYour own list of positions with name and short form (at least 2)

Under Default fields you’ll find templates for common fields.

Entering values

As a coach or supervisor: open ⋮ → Team data, tap the pencil and choose Edit values. Editing other people’s values requires the Edit member data permission – supervisors and coaches by default.

As a member: you can always maintain your own values. Open your own profile from the member list and tap Edit – you’ll find the Team data section there.

You can pick several positions. The star marks your main position (PRIMARY). Then tap Apply.

Fields from the club

If the team belongs to a club, the club can define its own fields, e.g. “home club”. These appear in every team under Fields from the club and can only be edited in the club: club page → ⋮ → Edit club → Club fields.

  • Values of team fields only apply in that team.
  • Values of club fields apply in all of the club’s teams.
  • Saving other people’s club field values requires the right to edit member data in the club too. If you don’t have it, the app saves only the team fields and tells you so.

A member’s profile

Tap a person in the member list to open their Profile. Depending on your permissions you’ll see:

  • ways to get in touch, such as email, call or chat
  • the person’s Team data
  • linked guardians or wards
  • for coaches and supervisors, further areas such as training, statistics, health and measurements
  • for treasury managers, the open amount in the team treasury

Switch member takes you straight to the next profile. Some analyses of other members require premium.

In the web dashboard

In the web dashboard you set up fields under Manage group → Custom fields (for a club, Manage club → Custom fields):

  • Add field opens a dialog with name and type (Text, Number, Dropdown, Yes/No, Date).
  • Each field can be switched on and off and reordered by drag and drop.
  • Club fields appear in teams under Inherited from club and are read-only there.

You enter values under Members via the pencil icon Edit member, in the Team data section. In the squad list you can also show the fields as columns.
