Season planning in the dashboard

Create all of a season's games at once, plan practices as a series, set the season start and get an overview in the season timeline.

Once the fixture list is out, you can create all the games in one go in the web dashboard – instead of one at a time. Together with practice series and the season timeline, you keep the whole season in view.

For season planning you need the “Manage events” permission (by default coaches and supervisors).

Creating games with the season planner

  1. Open Calendar in the sidebar and choose New → Plan season (games) at the top right.
  2. Click Add game for the first game.
  3. Fill in the row: date, start and end, Home or Away, opponents and, if needed, a separate location.
  4. For more games, click Add game again. The new game is automatically placed one week after the last one and keeps its time and home/away setting.
  5. Fill in the shared details that apply to all games: Meeting time, description, settings, organizers, audience and participants.
  6. Click the create button at the bottom (it shows how many games will be created).

Each game is created as a separate event. You can edit, move or cancel it individually later.

Good to know for each game

  • Opponents: separate several opponents with commas, e.g. for a tournament day.
  • Tournament: switch this on if the game is a tournament. It isn't a separate event type.
  • Title: if you leave it empty, it's generated automatically, e.g. “Game vs. …”.
  • Duplicate (one week later): copies the game with its location and home/away setting, but without opponents.
  • Every game needs an end after its start. Rows with errors are marked red.

The season planner is only for creating games. You edit existing games individually in the calendar.

Planning practices as a series

For recurring practices, create a series:

  1. Calendar → New → New event, type Training.
  2. Switch on Repeat.
  3. Choose Weekly, Every 2 weeks or Every 4 weeks and the end date under Until.

Each event in the series is a normal single event. Games can't be created as a series – that's what the season planner is for. More in Creating events and series.

Moving events

If a game date changes, drag it with the mouse to another day in the calendar (in week view also to another time). In the Move event dialog you decide whether confirmed participants are notified and whether everyone has to respond again. On a phone or tablet, use edit instead.

Setting the season start

You set when a season starts under Manage group → General → Season start. The default is 1 September. You can set a different start for each season; seasons without their own value take the one from the season before.

The season start is used for things like the absences timeline, the team treasury and measurements.

The season at a glance

In the Calendar, the Statistics view shows the Season timeline: one bar per calendar week, split into training, game and event. You can see right away which weeks are packed and where nothing is planned.

  • Hover over a week to see its events.
  • Click to open that week in week view.
  • Cancelled events aren't counted.

Below it you'll find the attendance statistics and the Needs attention card for upcoming events with missing responses or less than 60 % acceptances.

You'll find the season planner and timeline under Planning → Calendar.
